I flew down to Florida to spend my birthday with some friends. My awesome friend has the same birthday as I do. We had a WONDERFUL time! We went to the farmers market. There they have it year round. Here we only have it for 8 weeks. The prices down there were unbelievable. There were so many vendors. It was huge. Really great deals. It is not organic but none-the-less. I really wish I lived near a farmers market like that.

For our birthday dinner we had raw tacos. It was just delish! In it was pineapple, onion, lime, corn, tomatoes, avocados and cilantro. Mix it all up and put them on top of roamine leaves or slices of cucumbers for chips and dip. And our birthday cake, well the picture speaks for itself, a watermelon cake.

This was the first time I have traveled on an airplane as a raw foodist. I didn't bring food with me, not a big deal. The airport has fruit. I ate a huge breakfast and then ate some apples at the airport before I left. I did drink orange juice on the plane. I am so used to drinking fresh oj that the pasteurized stuff tasted weird and I ate some peanuts. And they did have have a dried fruit and nut bag. I did eat the dried fruit but not the nuts.
But it was a different story on the airplane on the way back home. I knew the turbulance is a lot more heading back west. And we did experience a lot of it. And I get motion sickness very, very, very easy. It doesn't take much. And dramamine doesn't work. And when I do get nausea, it will last a good 24 hours. Yeah not fun. So at the airport I bought some gluten free crackers as a back up just in case I get sick. I did bring a huge bag of the most sweetest grapes I have had in a long time. I ate those first and then of course I started getting sick. I felt like crap. It was such a bumpy ride. So I started eating my crackers and it did take the edge off of being sick. That got me through the rest of the trip.
I am a raw foodist that doesn't have a problem eating something that isn't raw. I do have a closet full of rice and beans for emergency food. You never know.

We are getting a fruit order in soon. So excited because I ordered 2 cases of green figs. My fav! And kiwis, oh yeah! And fuji, honeycrips apples, spinach, cherry toms, coconuts, oranges and grapes. Let the feasting begin. I wish they had this kind of variety at the airports and on the airplanes. Oh maybe some day.
