Sunday's run was 21 miles with vertical and today's run was 14 miles with vertical.
I am kicking myself for not getting more cases of kiwis. I love sitting down to a meal of them like 20-25.
And I have to do a better job at keeping my stash of bananas. You got the greens ones and then the yellow ones and then the spotted ones which are ripe and ready to eat. My miles are picking up and I have to have my bananas. It is the middle of winter and this is the best source of calories for me right now.
I saw a facebook post from a friend the other day. She was talking about her diet and how much calories she's eating. Her typical intake a day is barely reaching 1300. Wow, even on a rest day for me I have eaten 2000 by lunch. A couple of friends I have seen in the past talk about their diet to loose weight. And it seems they just eat veggies and lean meats and are always complaining. I can't blame them, I would complain too. Then you see their pics at restaurant laughing that they are cheating. It is a wicked cycle. Glad I have not been on that roller coaster. And of course you see all the fad diets out their and a lot of them don't eat enough fruit. People fear fruit but they don't fear cheesy pizzas, and hamburgers. I mean I fear pizzas and hamburgers. Got cholesterol? I am not sure how so many people can be in the dark about high fat foods and cholesterol. They either are truly clueless or just wait for the next best pill to take to help them.
But also I think people are truly afraid to stop eating meat because they have a fear of not getting enough protein, like they are gonna fade away. So if this nation we live in eats so much meat, shouldn't everyone be walking around with huge muscles. No, most people walk around hunched over, for many reasons I won't go into. I think the typical american eats meat 2x a day. And imho, I think we are a very unhealthy society.
About 5 years ago I started swimming lesson (my first ever) to learn how to swim for a trialthon. I have a runner's body, not a swimmer's body, so my instructor told me I needed to add more muscles on my shoulders. So he told me to drink a huge protein shake. I nodded my head but was laughing inside. I already new the truth about protein so I didn't say anything. But I left laughing. Like okay, so I have a huge protein drink and go to bed and wake up with muscles. Doesn't work that way. You need to work out to build mucsles and of course protein is needed but not animal protein. You will run your body acidic and have disease. Look at the top olympic marathon runner guy. He is now in his 50's, he is a coach, thin and fit but had a heart attack. How does that happend? Diet. Too much meat and cholesterol. Period.
